Depression Recovery Groups is a service for those who have depression, bipolar disorder (especially type 2) or anxiety, which often overlaps with depression. It is a way for people who are living with these conditions to easily come together, support each other and learn about what they can do to improve the quality of their lives. It is a confidential place where you can meet with others without fear of being identified. The meetings are led by experts and include educational segments with the best researched and up-to-date, self-care tips.
Depression Recovery Groups is currently part of Human Performance Consultation, Inc. a management consulting company in Agoura Hills, California. Human Performance has been providing strategy, leadership development, organization development and performance management services to a variety of organizations since 2001.

My passion over the years has been to help both individuals and groups to have more effective, meaningful and satisfying lives. Since completing my doctorate in psychology in 1982 at Washington University in St. Louis, I have been able to work with people in a variety of difficult and complex situations. My knowledge of learning, group facilitation, working with geographically dispersed groups and the use of technology has helped me to be a more effective aid to many people.
In 2001, I decided to focus my attention on the growing problem of depression. Since that time I have led face to face depression support groups and classes for hundreds of individuals. I have made a careful and in-depth study on the causes and treatment of depression. My experience, training and research of the problem led me to want to help more people. It is a pleasure to see many individuals learn about how to deal with these issues in a supportive environment and regain their energy and hope.
I have been working on developing Depression Recovery Groups for the last few years. We have been helped along the way by many experts and people who are living with depression - for that I am very grateful. What I have come to realize is that there clearly are some very effective treatments and methods available. The challenge is to help each person find the combination of techniques that will work best for them. This has become my personal mission - to provide essential depression education in a supportive group environment to as many people as possible. |

For the past 12 years, I have been helping people navigate difficult situations in their lives. In addition to my work with online groups, I currently work as a psychological assistant in the private practice of Luisa Johnson, Ph.D. My work is primarily with adolescents and adults who have difficulties with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, life transitions, and the effects of trauma. I have been fortunate to work with people from many different backgrounds and experiences, including university students, foster children, victims of domestic violence, and drug abusers.
